Truckee
Little
League Teams
For
Practice or Game Schedules, go to the respective division page.
Truckee Little League
has five divisions:
|
Tee
Ball |
Tee
ball is typically
for players aged 5 and 6. Players hit from a tee, all players take
the field each inning, and all players bat each inning. The primary
goal of T-ball are to have fun, to instruct children in the fundamentals
of baseball, and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.
|
|
AA
Farm |
AA Farm is typically for 7 year
olds and 6 year olds that have a year of Tee Ball experience and are ready
to hit a pitched ball. The Farm Division
uses coach pitch and a pitching machine to pitch to the players. Nine
players take the field and all players are in the batting rotation, though
an inning is over at 3 outs. The goal of Farm is to have a good time
and prepare them for AAA Farm. AA Farm is non-competetive.
|
|
AAA Farm |
AAA
Farm is typically for 8 year olds. AAA Farm will start with a pitching
machine and then have some player pitching in the second half of the season. Nine
players take the field and all players are in the batting rotation, though
an inning is over at 3 outs. The goal of Farm is to have a good time
while making the game a little more exiting. Additional goals
include preparing pitchers and hitters for the Minor Division. The first half of the season will be
non-competitive, and the second will be competitive.
|
|
Minors |
Minors is typically for players aged 9 and 10. Minors is like
traditional baseball in that players pitch, 9 players take the field, but
all players at the game makeup the batting lineup. The goal of Minors is to prepare children for
eventual selection to a Major division team and have fun doing it.
|
|
Majors |
Majors is typically
for players aged 11 and 12. Majors is also like traditional baseball
and players have a chance to play in postseason tournaments.
|
|
Babe Ruth |
Although not a part
of Little League Baseball, Truckee players aged 13 to 15 may participate
in Babe Ruth where they will play teams from out of the area including
North Tahoe and Reno. Go to the
Babe Ruth
Website for more information. |
